Safe Products, Safe Homes

Wagner Electric realizes that while our products and systems bring added ease of living to your home, there are also safety precautions of which our customers should be aware. We have provided the following tips for our customers’ electrical safety:

Wiring: You should always consider hiring a licensed electrician for electrical repairs, unless you are experienced in electrical work.

Entertainment and Computer Equipment: Make sure the equipment is in good condition. Check for cracks or wiring damage, connectors and plugs. Always use a surge protector with the seal of a nationally recognized certification agency.

Circuit Breakers/Fuses: These should be the correct size current rating for their circuit. Have an electrician label the size to be used, and always replace a fuse with the correct size.

Light Bulbs: Make sure you check the wattage of all bulbs in all light fixtures, ensuring they are the right wattage for the size of the fixture. Check with the manufacturer of the fixture to find out the correct wattage if you do not know it. Loose bulbs overheat, make sure they are secured in the fixture tightly.

Outlets and Plugs: Make sure your plugs fit your outlets, and check for outlets that have loose-fitting plugs. NEVER force a plug into an outlet if it doesn’t fit.
